NModern sneaker culture had its roots in the air; that ism the original Air Jordan that released in 1985. Nike, and subsequently the Jordan Brand, has honored this iconic silhouette numerous times since with releases of the Retro 1. This first pair of Air Jordan wa the only one in the series to feature the familiar Nike swoosh logo. And predating the Jumpman logo, the OG shoe featured the wings logo- a basketball with wings stretching from both sides and “Air Jordan” printed above the ball. Nike filed the wings logo as a trademark on May 7, 1985.

Air Jordans have been an intricate part of the sneaker game since they were first introduced in 1985. Whether it was the Jordan 1 getting banned, MJ dunking from the foul line in the Jordan 2, or making us believe he could fly in the Air Jordan 3, our memories our filled with Air Jordan history. Becoming more popular in the Middle East, sneakerheads of today who may not understand the full velocity of how great Jordan was, are still getting in on the sneaker game and influence it still has on society today.
