Founded in 2015, upclassics started as an ambassador of true streetwear culture in the Middle East. Aiming to tell streetwear’s broad history, upclassics represents some of the most authentic and renowned brands of the world throughout the U.A.E and beyond. For the next part of this substantial narrative we start at the very beginning of our culture, when flourishing metropolises like NY and LA layed the ground rules for what streetwear is today….
upclassics is bringing back the 90’s with their first own collection. Consisting of 6 pieces, the collection features T-Shirts, Crewneck, Hoodies and a Half Zip Sweater. While all of the garments and fabrics were imported from the US, some of the pieces even feature the iconic Champion quality, the american heritage manufacturer is known for over decades.
Alongside upclassics teamed up with partnering brands Carhartt WIP, The Hundreds, Carrots and Jason Markk for additional collaborative pieces that support the purpose of this project.
Renownedly choosing analog over digital, there was no better pick to capture the authentic 90’s vibe, than local creative duo Chndy an Cheb Moha. Strolling through the vivid streets of Deira, hanging out in Al Quoz warehouses or posing in front of infamous Burj Khalifa, the lookbook showcases some of the most iconic places of Dubai.
For the Carhartt WIP Part of this project three of the most iconic pieces of the famous workwear brand were taken on: A cordouroy Dad Hat, the cordouroy Club Pant and the legendary Michigan Chore Coat.
The upclassics x The Hundreds part takes inspiration from one of the most famous Souvenir T-Shirts of Dubai. The “Travel” T-shirt comes in white, pink and sand.
Reciting the colors of the U.A.E Flag, the Carrots x upclassics capsule consists of 4 pieces including a T-Shirt, a Longsleeve, a Crewneck and a Hoody.
Last but not least we collaborated with Jason Markk on a special shoe dust bag, that will only be given to Friends and Family members of the upclassics squad.
The upclassics collection as well as the collaborative pieces with Carhartt WIP, The Hundreds, Carrots and Jason Markk will be exclusively available at Sole DXB 2017 on Dec 8+9.
